Charu Jain , Director

Charu Jain is the Director and Trustee of Advit Foundation. Her specialization includes environment conservation and livelihood enhancement strategies. She has extensive experience and expertise in community empowerment, environment and health trainings and environment reporting. Charu has her masters degree in Environment Botany from Hamdard University, Delhi. She attended a programme on Environmental Journalism at UCLA, Los Angeles, U.S.A. and an advanced degree course on Environment Reporting with UNEP.

Charu has previously worked with Foundation for Revitalisation of Local Health Traditions, Bangalore; Centre for Science and Environment, Development Alternatives and Winrock International, New Delhi. Her work encompasses State of Environment Reports for several Indian States and South Asian countries.

Samit Jain, Founder Trustee

Samit co-founded Advit Foundation in the year 2004 with a focus on conservation of environment. Samit holds an M.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Physics and B.E. (Hons.) Electrical and Electronics both from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani. He also holds an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Hawaii, USA.

He is currently a Director at Pluss Polymers, Gurgaon. He specialises in design and development of Thermal Energy Storage projects particularly storage of excess solar energy, waste energy and cold energy using specially designed phase change materials.  His pioneering work, won him the special award at ASHRAE and ISHRAE sponsored awards for work in energy storage and saving fuel for airconditioning for telecom shelters in remote areas of the country. He also holds the additional capacity of Director at Alltec Protection Systems, the Indian arm of which works in earthing and lightening protection systems. He is also a Director at Adya Systems and Software Pvt. Ltd. focussing on work in the areas of wireless systems and networks.

Bhavesh Swami , Asst. Manager Energy Centre

Bhavesh manages the day to day affairs of Rajiv Gandhi Renewable Energy Park that is a part of ADVIT Foundation. He has a diversified portfolio that includes Tourism, Sustainable Development and Energy Efficiency. He holds a Post Graduation in Tourism Management. Subjects like Community Empowerment, Ecotourism and a Carbon Responsible India are close to his heart.

Vinay Kumar, Coordinator Communication

Vinay holds a Bachelors degree in Computer application from IGNOU, New Delhi. He specialises in creative design including web and graphics. He is pursuing an advanced course on web designing and video at Leeward Community College, Hawaii, USA.

He has been training students and teachers of several volunteer organizations on computer literacy for over 8 years. He has trained teachers of various Govt. and Navyug schools on the concept of computer aided learning. He has an additional quality of effectively communicaing and mobilising communities and organizing events. Travelling, biking and flying are his passions.

Mathangi R , Programme Coordinator

Mathangi coordinates all project operations at Advit. She holds a degree in science from Delhi University and a post-graduate diploma in Office Management from YMCA, New Delhi.

Her interests include reading and writing. She actively volunteers to teach and spend time with underserved children.

Sachin Kanojia , Project Associate

Sachin coordinates implementation of community workshops. He holds a bachelors degree in Political Science from University of Delhi. He has an ardent interest in Tourism with special emphasis on Eco-tourism. Has work intensly with waste segregating communities in Ladakh and Spiti on efficient waste management. Sachin also specialises in Theatre in Education. He designs hands on workshops with children.

He has previously worked with a number of volunteer organizations like Kutumb Foundation, Manzil Welfare Society, Karam-marg and Adhyan.

P. Meenatchi Sundaram, Field Operations

Sundaram is a graduate in Polymer Engineering (2004) from Amrita Institute, Coimbatore. He has several years of development experience in Phase Change Materials, Nylon Alloys and Polymer Blends. He has presented papers at various conferences and heads business development for Phase Change Materials (Thermal Energy Storage) for the southern region of India for Pluss Polymers Pvt. Ltd. He has several publications and patents on Phase Change Materials to his credit.

He helps Advit organize energy efficiency programmes and implement health and safety trainings for the industrial workers.

 

Ritesh Khera, Field Operations

Ritesh is a post-graduate in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. He has a lot of experience in Intellectual Property at Evalueserve and is a registered patent agent with the Indian Patent Office since 2007. He is currently a consultant at Foundation of Innovation and Technology Transfer, IIT Delhi. Oil and Energy research are his areas of interest and expertise.
