Occupational Health and Safety Capacity Building Programme For Carpet Weavers
This programme aims to educate and generate know how among the factory workers about health and safety at work.
The purpose is to enable the vulnerable groups of such a society like women and youth to develop know how of their surroundings. Generally, these sections are otherwise excluded or exclude themselves from such activities because the compulsions of meeting the immediate survival needs become their primary task.
The programme objective is to :
- Organize interactive session on health and safety for the factory workers
- Introduce health camps
- Why care about health : Preventive Health
- Existing health problems : Alarming symptoms
- Protection at ones own level : PPE, nutrition, sleep, cleanliness, hygiene
- Medical care : Health camp
The challenge of the programme is to have regular training programmes where the workers get the information/education about health and occupational safety and become responsible. The programme is holistic in nature with the following curricula:
